Privacy Policy โ Hoof Harted
Effective date: September 15, 2026 Last updated: September 15, 2026
The short version
Hoof Harted is a party game. It has no accounts, no login, and no sign-up. It does not collect, transmit, or store your personal information on any server we control โ we do not operate a server.
The names you type into the game are stored on your own phone and are never sent anywhere.
The only information that leaves your device does so through Apple, Google, or our subscription provider, and only in connection with (a) delivering app updates and (b) processing a subscription if you choose to buy one. Those are described below.
We do not use analytics. We do not use advertising. We do not use tracking of any kind, and the app contains no third-party analytics, advertising, attribution, or crash-reporting software.
1. Who we are
Hoof Harted is published by HappyBirdsEntertainment, Inc., of 66 Moore Street, Hackensack, NJ 07601.

2. What the app stores on your device
The app writes the following to your phone's own storage. None of it is transmitted to us. We cannot see any of it.
| What | Where it is stored | Why |
|---|---|---|
| The names of the people you add to a line-up | App storage on your device | So the game remembers the room between rounds |
| Which of those names you have marked as the pre-chosen result ("Rigged Job") | App storage on your device | So the choice survives closing the app |
| Which scan type you last used | App storage on your device | So the app opens where you left it |
| The wording you typed for a custom scan, if you made one | App storage on your device | So you do not have to retype it every round |
| A copy of any music file you chose to play during a scan, and its file name | App storage on your device | So the track keeps working after you close the app |
| Whether you have seen the introduction screen | App storage on your device | So it is shown once rather than every launch |
| Light or dark appearance | App storage on your device | Your display preference |
| Whether sound is muted | App storage on your device | Your sound preference |
| How many free rounds you have played | Device secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore) | To apply the free-round limit |
| Your preferred scan length | Device secure storage | Your subscription setting |
The names are just text you typed. The app does not know who those people are, does not look them up, does not match them against anything, and has no way to contact them. They are labels in a game.
The music file is a copy of a file you chose, and nothing more. Picking one uses your phone's own file browser โ the app is never given access to your music library, your files, or anything you did not select. The copy stays inside the app, is never uploaded, and is not read for anything except playing it. Removing the track in Scan Music, or deleting the app, deletes the copy.
Deleting this information
Deleting the app removes everything in the rows stored in app storage, including the music copy.
One item behaves differently and we want to be explicit about it. The count of free rounds you have played, and your scan-length preference, are kept in your device's secure storage (the iOS Keychain or the Android Keystore). On iOS, items in the Keychain can survive deleting and reinstalling the app. This is deliberate: the free-round allowance exists so the game can be tried before it is bought, and storing the counter this way stops it being reset by reinstalling. It is a number, it contains nothing about you, and it is not sent anywhere โ but it is the one thing that may outlive an uninstall, and you should know that.
3. What leaves your device
3.1 App updates
The app checks for updates when it starts, using Expo Application Services (EAS Update). To deliver an update, that service necessarily receives your device's IP address and basic technical information about the device and the app version, in the same way any software that downloads an update does.
We use this only to deliver the correct update. We do not use it to identify you, and we do not combine it with anything else.

3.2 Subscriptions
If you buy a subscription, the purchase is processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never see and never receive your payment card, billing address, or Apple/Google account credentials. Those go to the store, not to us.
We use RevenueCat to confirm whether a valid subscription exists. RevenueCat receives a randomly generated, anonymous identifier for the installation, plus the purchase receipt information provided by the store. That anonymous identifier is not linked to your name, email, or any account, because the app has no accounts.

3.3 Nothing else
There is no other network activity. The app makes no requests of its own to any server we operate, because we operate none.
4. What we do not do
- We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or postal address.
- We do not ask for or use your location.
- We do not access your contacts, photos, calendar, or files.
- We do not access your microphone. The app plays sound; it does not listen.
- We do not access your camera.
- The app does not detect, measure, or sense anything about you, the people around you, or the air. It is a game. It plays an animation and then picks one of the names you typed at random.
- We do not use cookies or similar tracking technologies.
- We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with anyone, for any purpose. We have none to sell.
- We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making.
5. Children
Hoof Harted is rated 12+ and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, there is nothing for us to delete on request โ but if you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us at taklawyer@yahoo.com and we will respond.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information a company holds about you, or to object to its processing โ for example under the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended, or similar laws elsewhere.
We hold no personal information about you. There is nothing on our side to access, correct, export, or delete, because nothing reaches us. Information the app stores is on your own device and under your control: you can clear it by deleting the app, subject to the Keychain note in section 2.
For information held by Apple, Google, or RevenueCat in connection with a purchase, those companies are the ones to approach, and their policies are linked in section 3.2.
If you want to exercise a right or have a question, write to taklawyer@yahoo.com and we will respond within the time your local law requires.
7. Security
Information stored on your device is protected by your device's own security โ your passcode, biometrics, and the operating system's app sandboxing. The free-round counter and scan-length preference additionally use the platform's secure storage (Keychain / Keystore).
Because we hold no personal information, there is no database of ours that could be breached.
8. International users
The app is available in every territory where Apple and Google distribute it. Because the app sends us nothing, using it does not transfer your personal information across any border to us. Transfers relating to purchases and updates are governed by the policies of Apple, Google, Expo, and RevenueCat.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the "Last updated" date above and post the revised version at https://happybirdsentertainment.com/privacy. If a change materially affects how information is handled, we will make that clear in the app before the change takes effect.
